You must register to vote no later than May 4th, 2026
In Pennsylvania, you must register to vote 15 days before the election. You do not need to be 18 years old to register, but you must turn 18 on or before Election day.
Your ballot must be received by 8pm on Election day (May 19th, 2026)
Ballots must be delivered to your county election office by 8pm on Election day. A postmark is not sufficient.

What is a mail-in ballot?
All Pennsylvanians have the right to vote by mail.
Mail-in ballots allow you to vote ahead of time and mail (or hand deliver) your ballot to your county election office. Unlike absentee ballots, you do not need a reason to request a mail-in ballot.
Who can apply for a mail-in ballot?
Any qualified voter can apply for a mail-in ballot. You must already be a registered voter to apply to vote by mail-in ballot. You can check your voter status with the Pennsylvania Voter Service page.

What is an absentee ballot?
Absentee ballots also allow you to vote by mail. Unlike mail-in ballots, you must have a reason to vote absentee.
Who can apply for an absentee ballot?
Registered voters who may vote absentee include:
- College students
- People whose work or vacation take them away from the municipality where they live
- Those with a physical disability or illness that prevents them from going to the polling place
- Members of the military
- People who may have a conflict due to the celebration of a religious holiday
